A huge fight over one of Limpopo’s promising stars is looming between Motsepe Foundation Championship clubs Black Leopards and Venda Football Academy (VFA).
VFA unveiled their squad list for the 2022/23 season on Tuesday. Amongst the players announced was a player named Wanga “Messi” Khorommbi.
Khorommbi was playing for local newly promoted ABC Motsepe League side United Artists.
Khorommbi is currently at the Leopards camp and featured for them during their pre-season friendly matches, including a match against VFA.
But on Tuesday, VFA who are in their second season in the first division included the player amongst their new signings. The club claims the player has signed a contract with the club ahead of the new season.
FARPost has gathered that VFA have also approached the league after finding out the player has been registered for the Motsepe Foundation Championship season by Lidoda Duvha.
This publication has been reliably informed that Khorommbi will be unveiled by Leopards on Wednesday evening, a few hours after VFA unveiled the player as their own.
Leopards will be having a Gala Dinner on Wednesday where they will announce their squad list and all new signings.
Both Leopards and VFA were not available for comment.
