Truter On Chiefs Draw – I’m Fairly Confident

AmaZulu head coach Brandon Truter has revealed he is “fairly confident” about facing Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 semi-final and insisted playing the first leg away from home is an advantage for his side.

Usuthu were paired with the Amakhosi during Monday night’s draw, while Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns are facing each other in the other semi-final.

Truter explained he is happy with draw and believes playing the first leg away from home gives Usuthu an advantage over their opponents.

“At the semi-final stage of any competition, all the teams there are top quality. There is not easy game, of course, it’s all tough games,” he told his club’s media team.

“The draw for us, we drew the mighty Amakhosi. It’s always a good game and good for our supporters, good for us at the moment in terms of testing.

“First, it being an away draw that gives us a bit of an advantage, if you get the job done away from home early which would put us in a good position in the second leg.

“We want to do well. For us at the moment, we want to win every match. This is a cup game and it’s a cup on offer and it’s there to be taken. We fancy our chances against Chiefs, against any team for that matter.

“I’m fairly confident, the boys have been doing well. We’re improving in every match, so I’m happy so far. But there is always room for improvement and I expect us to be top quality, in top, top form when facing Chiefs in the semi-final of the MTN8.”

AmaZulu and Chiefs actually face each other on the coming weekend already when third-placed Usuthu travel to FNB Stadium.
