A numerical disadvantage was not an issue when a 10-woman Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies defeated City Lads 3-0 in Gqeberha this past weekend.

Bambanani Mbane was sent off in the first half for an elbowing but that did not deter the Chloorkop-based outfit. 

The result coupled with their 7-0 midweek victory over Tsunami Queens sees Sundowns back at the top of the log, with 42 points in 15 matches. The rookies are third from bottom with 11 points from 17 matches.

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)’s 11-match unbeaten run was ended by Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies (Royal AM) at the Sugar Ray Xulu stadium as TUT lost 3-2.

The Reds dropped to third position on the standings with 39 points from 19 games while Celtic, are fifth with 35 points from the same number of games.

Meanwhile, JVW Girls maintained second spot with 41 points from 17 outings, this follows their 3-0 victory over Durban Ladies at the King Zwelithini stadium.
