Substitutes: Madela, Mahlangu, Silva, Fisher, Maake, Mbunjane, Rantoa, Ngwenya, Zulu.

Mamelodi Sundowns starting line up: Williams, Mudau, Johannes, Khoza, Basadien, Gomolemo Kekana, Allende, Santos, Matthews, van Wyk, Leon.

Substitutes: Goss, Mvala, Modiba, Mdunyelwa, Mkhulise, Zwane, Mokoena, Mailula, Rayners.

The Rockets started their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Siwelele, while Kabo Yellow are coming off a 3-2 victory over Polokwane City in the MTN8 last weekend.

TS GALAXY UNDER BERNARD PARKER

TS Galaxy have undergone major changes ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. The Rockets brought in Bernard Parker as their new coach as they look to build a competitive side for the new season.

They also added 14 new players to their squad during a major overhaul. However, TS Galaxy have reason to feel confident ahead of the meeting with Sundowns.

The Rockets are unbeaten in their last four home matches against the Brazilians. That run includes a memorable 3-2 victory in May 2026 and a Nedbank Cup triumph earlier this year.

Playing at Mbombela Stadium could therefore give TS Galaxy another boost against the reigning champions.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS BEGIN TITLE DEFENCE

Sundowns enter the match after an entertaining 3-2 win over Polokwane City in the MTN8.

They are preparing to reclaim the Betway Premiership title after Orlando Pirates clinched it last season. Coach Miguel Cardoso will want his team to build momentum quickly despite facing a difficult away trip.

Sundowns no longer have Lucas Ribeiro or Peter Shalulile, who both departed the club. That leaves Cardoso with a reshaped attacking unit as Sundowns target another league title.
