Mamelodi Sundowns’ latest signing Marcelo Allende from Montevideo City Torque has penned a long-term contract with the DStv Premiership champions.
Allende, 23, was finally unveiled by the club after initially arriving and training with Masandawana for the past week and has said to have impressed the technical team early on.
Sundowns have now confirmed he’s penned a five-year contract and while they have not disclosed the transfer fee, the Uruguayan club have stated it’s a ‘record sale’.
“I’m happy to be here at Mamelodi Sundowns and to contribute to the success of the team,” Allende said in Spanish in his unveiling video on Wednesday.
While he now looks to get up to speed with the squad already four games into the season, he was named on the bench in their game against Stellenbosch.
Allende has immediately made Masandawana’s squad to face Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday and will wear the No. 11 shirt, which was previously assigned to Kermit Erasmus, whose future at the club seems uncertain.
