Klate – What Chippa Needs To Succeed

Chippa United head coach Daine Klate has revealed what Chippa United needs to succeed this season after going down to Maritzburg United on the weekend.

The Chilli Boys won only one game last season at home and it was against Stellenbosch. According to Klate winning more home games could play a big role in the team’s success.

In the current campaign, the Eastern Cape-based side is yet to win a home game after losing to Royal AM 3-1, while their other three games were away from home.

“I think we have to make our home matches a fortress we have to turn the stadium into a difficult place for teams to come to and take points, we can’t give points away when we play at home,” Klate said ahead facing TS Galaxy on Wednesday.

“I think we need to instil that philosophy and that mentality of people coming here and we make it difficult for them at the stadium.

“Every time we have a home game the aim should be to get three points and mostly out of the 15 matches we should be winning more games at home than we losing and drawing that’s the main aim for the season.

“Hopefully, on Wednesday we can rectify that and obviously get a victory,” Klate concluded.

The Chilli Boys will host the high-flying Rockets – who have yet to concede a goal this season – at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium tomorrow (19h30).
