Former Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina is still keeping the internet guessing about her nationality after a picture of her younger self allegedly attending a private school in Nigeria went viral. Chidimma previously claimed that she was born and raised in Soweto.

Chidimma Adetshina’s early school life questioned

The picture, posted on 4 November 2025 under her Story Highlights titled ‘Memories,’ showed Chidimma between the ages of four and five wearing a crown and sash, which read “Miss Bambi 4-5 yrs.”

The beauty queen wrote on the post, “To that little Chi: Your dreams were always valid. You dreamt it, you believed it, and now you’re living it. I guess some dreams are worth fighting for. They will never know. Just you and I. Just a few days and it’s completely over.”

According to PSAFLive, Chidimma allegedly attended Bambiland School, a private day and boarding school in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria. The learning institution reportedly serves children from 18 months to 18 years, offering Montessori nursery and British/Nigerian curriculum for primary and secondary levels.

The publication alleges that while Chidimma claimed to have been born at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, there are no records of her as a child or early education.

It is also alleged that the Mozambican woman described as her mother may be her stepmother, who welcomed her and helped Chidimma with the unverified South African documents.

Internet users join the conversation

With an ongoing court battle with the Department of Home Affairs to fight her case against deportation, many social media users have remained invested in Chidimma’s legal matter.

@NqantizaKhumalo stated with a laugh, “Someone is leaking information in Nigeria.”

“You guys are good with investigation. The alleged mother must come forward for a DNA test,” said @Mr_Accurate_1.

@MluMpeta shared their opinion under the comments, “With all the evidence presented here on X, this case shouldn’t be dragging this long.”

The matter has been postponed to 19 August 2026.
