71-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDERING WIFE OF 45 IN POLOKWANE

Police in Palaborwa suburb of Lulekani made an arrest 71-year-old suspect in the Biko settlement around 12:00 on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, on suspicion of murdering his 45-year-old wife.

According to Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo the police received information about the incident and responded immediately. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the deceased lying in a pool of blood in the house with multiple stab wounds.

Spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo says she was identified as Patricia Ngoveni and the sharp object was found at the scene and is believed to be the weapon used in the murder.

Mojapelo says that the suspect was subsequently arrested after turning himself in to police at the Lulekani police station.

He further says that the motive for the murder is still unknown, but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.

Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe says that they expect investigators to investigate this matter vigorously to ensure the final conviction of the suspect.

The suspect is scheduled to be charged with murder in the Lulekani Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
