Marumo Gallants skipper Washington Arubi has issued a warning to his teammates saying the encounter against Golden Arrows will be a difficult one. He describes their opponents as a wounded lion as they are gunning four their first point of the season.
The KZN outfit sit rock bottom on the DStv Premiership table. They’ve lost back-to-back league matches against Richards Bay and Sekhukhune United respectively under the leadership of co-coaches Vusimuzi Vilakazi and Mabhuti Khanyeza. However, both teams will be aiming to register a first victory of the campaign.
“Its going to be a tough game because Arrows are coming from losing, so it’s like we facing a wounded lion. As a team we ready for them and we playing at home, we want to pick up points as soon as possible,” Arubi told the media.
“We want to pick up three points from this game, our first three points of the season. We have to win no matter what because we know sometimes we go away and it will be a different ball game. So the more we pick up more points at home ground it will be easy going way forward.”
The Zimbabwe international is confident that his side will score goals and secure their first three points of the season in their next assignment, following two goalless draws.
“That’s what we’ve been trying to do this week [scoring goals], I’m sure we going to manage to score goals and win the match. I know its going to be a tough game, but we ready and also we have to take advantage each and every time we play at home,” Arubi concluded.
Despite new signings to their squad, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa coach Romain Folz is however not satisfied with his squad, stating that possible additions may be heading to the Limpopo outfit.
“We need additions in the offensive department, also .Maybe the cover options in our defence line in case we get an injury, knowing the amount of games coming with CAF [Confederations Cup].”
“So we will need to beef up the squad not because people are not doing well but you need to prevent injuries and that’s the best way to have a competitive squad in every position,” said Folz.
Kickoff at Peter Mokaba Stadium is at 3pm.
