Over the years, Mhlongo has always ensured that he has more than one look, and this year was no different. He arrived at the event in a bedazzled tapestry suit, rocking a bare chest and fiery red wig.
He also revealed another look that tapped into the rich Basotho culture, as he wore a custom mokorotlo (the traditional hat), paired with a brown corset, and pants and spiked shoulders with tassels dripping down.
Mhlongo also shared that he not only dressed himself but also two other attendees: musician DJ Tira, influencer Anele Zondo, and media personality Zola Mohlongo.
“@djtira said I want to put you to a test. Can you make clothes for men? I said bring it on. Oh, what a canvas he is… The bead art at the back. I discovered this young man from Thembisa. @_kgaugeloshai and oh my word did he not deliver? Over 15,000 glass beads to create Tira’s portrait,” wrote Mhlongo.

Explaining the meaning behind her ‘Cinderella of the Countryside’ look, Zola shared on Instagram, “A celebration of equestrian heritage, every element draws from the world of the countryside—the rustic charm of the barn, the texture of hay, the timeless elegance of the stables, and a sculptural corset inspired by the harness and saddle.
“Where raw countryside romance meets haute couture, tradition is transformed into fantasy.”
