SA COVID-19: Surveillance data to be reported weekly

COVID-19 numbers will no longer be reported daily.

From Sunday, the Health Department and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases will publish the surveillance data only weekly.

The Department says this is because of the declining COVID-19 case numbers as well as the reduced severity and transmissibility of the virus.

But it’s urging South Africans to remain vigilant and to vaccinate as the pandemic is not over.
