Kaizer Chiefs have once again fuelled speculation regarding the club’s next head coach after a cryptic interaction on social media caught the attention of supporters.

Amakhosi are still yet to officially announce a permanent replacement following the departure of co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze at the end of the season.

With supporters eagerly awaiting news from Naturena, a social media exchange on X (formerly Twitter) has added further intrigue.

@Ibhola_Lethu posted: “Kaizer Chiefs is announcing a new coach today (Tuesday).” The comment quickly gained traction among supporters desperate for clarity on the club’s technical team.

Responding directly to the post, Kaizer Chiefs’ official account replied: “Which Kaizer Chiefs?”

The response generated thousands of interactions, with fans debating whether the club was simply joking with supporters or subtly hinting that an announcement could be imminent.

Chiefs have remained tight-lipped about their coaching plans despite widespread reports linking several candidates to the vacancy.

Former AS FAR Rabat sporting director Fernando Da Cruz has emerged as one of the names strongly linked with the position, while Pitso Mosimane has also been mentioned in speculation surrounding the club.

Amakhosi fans though want an official announcement before the FIFA World Cup starts.

@TautonaM wrote: “You should have announced the coach already…be seen to be serious.”

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to name a new coach having parted ways with Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze last month.
