After fourteen years’ estrangement from her father, Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, Suri is legally dropping his surname.
The 20-year-old is opting to use her mother Katie Holmes’s middle name as her surname, making her legal name Suri Noelle.
Noelle is a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she reportedly registered to vote as Suri Noelle in 2024, as reported by Daily Mail.
Holmes and Cruise (64) married in a star-studded Italian wedding in November 2006.
She surprised Cruise with a divorce in 2012 when Suri was six-years-old, a divorce that was finalised in record time. She relocated to New York with Suri, making a clean break from the actor. Details of the divorce were never publicised.
47-year-old Holmes later dated Cruise’s friend, Jamie Foxx. They have since broken up, with Holmes now reported to be dating visual artist Jason Bard Yarmosky (38).
Suri is not the only Hollywood offspring to distance themself from their father by dropping his surname. Brad Pitt’s children with ex-wife Angelina Jolie have been individually doing so as each becomes of age.
