Orlando Pirates have missed out on signing reported target Mustafa Nadhim, who joined Al Faisaly in the Jordanian Pro League.

Nadhim, 28, was a free agent after leaving Al-Najma in Bahrain and the Buccaneers were understood to be keen on adding him to strengthen their defence.

He has collected 29 appearances for the Iraq national team and has played for nine different clubs so far.

Pirates, though, missed out on the defender who joined Al-Faisaly in the Jordanian Pro League, his new club confirmed.

The Buccaneers had reportedly submitted an offer for the defender, who was keen on moving to South Africa but his transfer was made difficult due to visa issues, according to Goal journalist Austin Ditlhobolo.

Pirates already signed Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki as new defenders, while Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Justive Chabalala and Kwanda Mngonyama were all released.
