Thando Thabethe remembers Busi Lurayi with a beautiful video in happier times

Busi Lurayi’s sudden death has left Mzansi in a very lonely place. The How to Ruin Christmas star was discovered deceased last week in her residence. A video of the actress and radio personality Thando Thabethe has surfaced.

Colleagues and friends have been sharing videos of happy moments with the Thespian.
One of those friends is Thando Thabethe, who shared a screen with her playing Lurayi’s younger sister on How to Ruin Christmas.

Thando expressed gratitude for the time she spent with Busi. She said Busi was one of the best in the business and that there was no one like her. She said Busi was stubborn and that she knew her worth.

Thabethe remembers Lurayi as a person who spoke up and made sure she was heard. She said Busi laughed hard and played hard.

The video captures their relationship beautifully. These two embraced their love for each other, and they are seen driving around and laughing and singing.

Busi Lurayi was laid to rest on Wednesday, July 20th. Some of her closest friends in the industry paid touching tributes to her, sharing how much of a bright light she was. Busi was hailed as one of the most hard-working and fun people.

Her death came as a shock since she was going to make her screen debut on the ETv Soapie, Scandal.

Busi made her name on City Ses’la as Phumzile, the crazy girlfriend to Themba. She was also a part of the spinoff called Ses’Top la.

Many people didn’t know that Lurayi left City Ses’la and was replaced by Thuli Thabethe, who now plays Puleng on Lingashoni. Thuli is not related to Thando Thabethe.

Thando is not the only one who shared special moments with Busi, Mandla N, who played her husband on Ses’Top la, remembered Busi for her fierce spirit. According to her Aunt, on the day she was discovered deceased, Busi didn’t return any of her calls, and that was just not in character for her because her Aunt says Busi always needed to talk on the phone and for long periods with her.

She says she started to panic and then called Lurayi’s father, and they both went to her flat to find her late.

Busi dies just when Netflix is gearing viewers up for the third instalment of How to Ruin Christmas. Lurayi had left the production, and she was not going to be a part of the production.
