SABC will televise the international friendly match between Bafana Bafana and Nicaragua.

Bafana head coach Hugo Broos selected his 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup on Wednesday. The selection however, caused a stir after six players were cut from the final squad including Kaizer Chiefs Brandon Petersen.

The 26 players held their first training session at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Thursday evening. It is more likely that Broos will rest many Mamelodi Sundowns players who were involved in the CAF Champions League final.

Which SABC channel will show Bafana game?

The match will take place on Friday, 29 May 2026 at the Orlando Amstel Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00.

Supporters will be able to watch the match live on SABC Sport and SuperSport channels. Tickets for Friday’s encounter are available for R80 for adults and R40 for children under the age of 12.

The friendly against the Central Americans will be South Africa’s final match on home soil before Broos and his squad depart for Mexico for the FIFA World Cup.

Bafana Bafana play hosts Mexico in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup on 11 June and the match will be televised on SABC and SuperSport channels.

he 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
