Mnqobi Shoba, previously known as Shota, didn’t let the woes of his bitter divorce battle with media personality Phumeza Mdabe bring him down. The prominent DJ and singer instead celebrated his friend, DJ Black Coffee, with whom he joined in the United Kingdom for his historic sold-out show at The O2 Arena.

Phumeza filed for divorce in July 2025 after 11 years of marriage. Sources close to the couple alleged that Phumeza accused the musician, also referred to as Shoba, of being unfaithful during their marriage. Recently, the actress demanded that Shoba cough up the rands, of which he told the court he has none.

Mnqobi Shoba enjoys the London memories

Despite the drama, on 25 May 2026, Shoba shared a video montage of his time in London for Black Coffee’s Live with Orchestra concert. The show was the first time the Grammy Award-winning record producer included a live, 12-piece orchestra in the United Kingdom. It also served as a reunion for Black Coffee, Shoba, and artist Demor, who form the music band SHANA (Simply Hot And Naturally African).

Shoba shared another video of the trio performing Khanya, where the artist took centre stage behind the mic while Black Coffee worked the decks and Demor played a keytar. Both also lent their vocals.

The following day, Shoba shared another picture of himself behind the mic, with his billionaire bestie featured in the background.

Following the gig in London, Shoba moved on to Ibiza, where he rocked the decks at Café Mambo.
