Former Orlando Pirates winger Gabadinho Mhango has revealed he had offers from Europe after his fine performances at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mhango, whose goal for Malawi at the recent Africa Cup of Nations has made it under the final three nominees, joined AmaZulu during the current transfer window.

The 29-year-old, though, also revealed he has offers from Europe after his fine performances for the Flames during the AFCON in January, when his three goals helped them to reach the knockout stages for a first time.

“There were a lot of offers,” Mhango told TimesLIVE in a recent interview.

“They were from teams from France, Germany, Spain and Belgium, but I had a contract with Pirates and maybe they couldn’t agree on terms.

“I had to focus on Pirates when those offers didn’t materialise. But if the two teams agreed on the offer that would have been good. Everyone wants to play in Europe.”

Mhango also insisted that his Pirates stint is behind now and he wants to focus on his new adventure with Usuthu.

“I don’t know, but whatever happened is in the past and I need to focus on the future,” he added.

“The focus now is to show people what I can do and to help AmaZulu be one of the best teams. I want to go there and enjoy my football again and do my best for the team.”
