Former Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele has sent a brief farewell message to the club’s fans after his exit was confirmed.
The Buccaneers announces Jele’s departure after 16 years at Orlando Stadium earlier on Monday.
The club confirmed they had offered the 35-year-old to continue in a “non-playing role” at the club but he opted to depart as he wants to continue playing.
Jele made over 400 appearances for the club, helping the Sea Robbers to lift eight trophies during his spell.
He leaves a club legend and sent a brief message to the fans in a farewell video published by Pirates.
“To the Orlando Pirates supporters, I’d like to thank you for your support throughout my journey and I’m very happy, thank you,” he stated.
