Shudufhadzo Musida shares Columbia University graduation video

Miss South Africa 2020 titleholder Shudufhadzo Musida was beaming after she obtained her master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She shared a short video of her graduation day, proudly waving a South African flag.

Shudufhadzo Musida gets her master’s degree

Often referred to as Shudu, the author and host of the podcast Mindful Mondays with Shudu gave fans a glimpse of herself and her graduating classmates at the ceremony. Dressed in a soft gown, the beauty queen also showed how packed the venue was with graduating students waiting to get capped.

Shudu’s education milestone also received recognition from her rumoured boyfriend, media personality Maps Maponyane, who added a graduation cap and fire emojis to the comment section.

Reflecting on her education journey

In another Instagram post shared before the big day, Shudu revealed that she was overcome with emotion. She was also grateful for the opportunity to further her studies at what she previously called her “dream university” in her “favourite city,” New York City.

She added in her caption, “I am leaving @columbia with a STEM Designated MPA concentrating in International Finance and Economic Policy. I’ve now conquered the edge and the Ivy League.”

Online users send Shudufhadzo Musida congratulatory messages

Hundreds of supportive social media users, including celebrities, wished Shudu well and expressed their pride.

Media mogul Basetsana Kumalo proudly exclaimed, “Congratulations, darling! You sure have MASTERED it!”

@tebogo4740 said to Shudu, “A positive role model for young women. Blessings.”

“Watching your story feels good. Steadily, you have reached your destination,” commented @marng_pin.

@kwanele_kunene added in the comments, “You are proof of possibility. Thank you.”
