Bafana Bafana have announced their starting XI to face Madagascar in the COSAFA Cup plate semi-final.
The young Bafana team coached by Helman Mkhalele failed to break down Mozambique’s defence and lost on penalties in their COSAFA Cup quarter-final.
As a consequence, the national team now enters the 5th-8th place playoffs and first face Madagascar, who were beaten 2-0 by Namibia in Tuesday’s quarter-final.

The winner of today’s match will then either play the winner of the clash between Botswana and Eswatini, who are contesting the other plate semi-final.
The two teams last met during the 2018 COSAFA Cup, when Madagascar beat Bafana on penalties after the match had ended 0-0. South Africa, though, picked up a 1-0 win over today’s opponents in a friendly match in 2009.
