Egypt Set To Land Ex-Ivory Coast Boss

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) look set for a major coup by luring former Ivory Coast head coach Patrice Beaumelle as part of their major rebuild.

After landing ex-Benfica boss Rui Vitória this week as the successor to Ehab Galal on a four-year deal the Frenchman is close to signing a deal to oversee their U-23 national Olympic squad.

iDiski Times has it on good authority that Beaumelle, who recently coached the Ivory Coast national team, entered into serious negotiations with EFA board member Mohamed Barakat this week.

Indications are that Beaumelle has expressed interest in the role and is scheduled to arrive in Cairo within 48 hours to formally sign the proposed contract just weeks after the EFA confirmed they would hire foreign leadership for both the senior and U23 national team squads.
