SIYA KOLISI ON MOTHER’S DAY: ‘IT WAS A ROUGH DAY’

Rugby star Siya Kolisi shared a photo of his mom on Mother’s Day expressing that it was a rough day for him. He explained that he has limited memories of his late mom, but he cherishes them. Take a look…

“It was a rough day today ! Limited memories but will always cherish them❤️,” he wrote.

Siya’s mom, Phakama, passed away when he was just a teenager. Siya and estranged wife Rachel Kolisi adopted his two siblings, Liyema and Liphelo in 2014, when they were younger.

SIYA AND RACHEL KOLISI DIVORCE

Siya and Rachel are currently going through a divorce. The former couple announced their split via a joint statement in October 2024, after eight years of marriage. Siya and Rachel have two children together – Nicholas (11) and Keziah (9). The pair also legally adopted his siblings, Liyema and Liphelo.

Siya has since moved on with 25-year-old influencer Rachel John, who lives between Amsterdam and the Eastern Cape in South Africa. Romance rumours between the pair began in late 2025. In January the pair went on “baecation” to Victoria Falls, the same place Siya took Rachel (Kolisi) on their honeymoon.

Siya and Rachel John also visited New York and Los Angeles together in February. Rachel (Kolisi) has since released a memoir and documentary titled Falling Forward amid the divorce, as she navigates this new chapter of her life.

Rachel Kolisi also revealed how she feels about her children potentially having a step mother during her interview with Anele Mdoda on 947 Radio.

“You know, I… I can only parent the best that I can and that is my priority, everything else, none of my business,” she said when asked “are you ready for another woman to be a step mother to your four children?”.
