Baccus Joins United Legend After Chiefs Exit

Published

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kearyn Baccus has reportedly been lured back to the A-League by Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke.

Baccus, 30, parted ways with Chiefs last month upon the expiry of his contract and it hasn’t taken long for the Durban-born talent to land a new club.

His representative Mike Makaab previously stated there was interest in Asia and the DStv Premiership for his services but Yorke, who was recently appointed at Australian top-flight side Macarthur FC, has enticed him into his project.

According to FTBL, the former Melbourne City midfielder agreed a two-year contract with the club founded five years ago, who finished seventh in the league last season.

Baccus previously turned out for Perth Glory, Western Sydney Wanderers and City before his move to Amakhosi in July 2019. At Amakhosi he made 57 appearances in three full campaigns before his exit.

During his spell with the Australian outfits, he emerged as one of the leading talents in the league and featured in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League with Wanderers.
