Tlhopie Motsepe was born and bred in Durban. He is the son of the famous businessman Patrice Motsepe; he grew up in a wealthy family. However, although his family was rich, his father, Patrice Motsepe, understood the value of education in one’s life and ensured his son had the best education.

Tlhopie did his primary and secondary school at one of the best schools in South Africa. The schools he attended are unknown as his family is private and loves to keep their lifestyle away from the media.
