The Woman King trailer has arrived, and it is everything we hoped for

The film The Woman King features Thuso Mbedu, Zozi Tunzi and Viola Davis. The story follows Nanisca, the General of the Dahomey Amazons, and partners up with the very ambitious Nawi, the young recruit in the Kingdom.

These two women decide to fight for their honour and take down their enemies who have enslaved their people.

Judging from the trailer, it looks like we are about to experience a revolution.

Viola Davis leads a team of woman warriors, and they are a force to be reckoned with.

The army of women takes on a mighty French Army that threatens to destroy everything they love.

A true story inspires the story in the 18th century in the Kingdom of Dahomey.

The visuals of this movie are stunning. The cast features mostly South Africans in it. Apart from Zozi and Thuso, there is Seputla Sebogodi, Masali Baduza (Noughts +Crosses) and Thando Dlomo, who comes from Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.

The spirit of these women is captured beautifully in this movie, and they are taking on a very powerful system.

The Woman King was filmed mainly in South Africa, and this makes it very attractive to African viewers as the story details the history of powerful women who took up arms to protect their nation.

The visuals of the army look spectacular, and most of the actors did their stunts.

Thuso has been sharing her physical work as a stunt for this movie, and she looks fantastic.
Filming started in 2021

The Trailer to the film started to circulate on Monday evening, and everyone who has seen it says it’s already looking epic.

Viola Davis activated the beast mode on this one, accompanied by the newcomer and Emmy award winner Thuso as her right arm, and they set it off.

The part Mbedu us playing was originally played by Lupita Nyong’o, and when she pulled out in 2021, Thuso was announced.

Beyonce will have a song featured in the movie’s soundtrack, which features Moonchild Sanelly and Busiswsa; the song is called My Power.

The movie is expected to be released on the 16th of September, 2022.
