Jampies Secures Next Move After Sekhukhune Exit

Experienced defender Cheslyn Jampies has been snapped up by Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila just weeks after his Sekhukhune United exit.

Jampies, 32, was strongly linked with a move to GladAfrica Championship side Cape Town Spurs after his abrupt release at Sekhukhune, as previously reported by iDiski Times.

This website can now confirm that the former Bloemfontein Celtic full-back has put pen to paper with Tshakuma, which is said to be a two-year-long contract.

Jampies chose Vhadau Vhadamani despite the interest from the Urban Warriors and he’s since explained why ahead of his move to Limpopo.

“I really wanted to stay in Cape Town because of my family but the chairman of TTM called me and explained his plans for the club in the new season,” he said.

“What came from his mouth made me feel like it’s the right choice. I’m planning to compete and knowing me, that’s my nature. I love winning, I love competition so he also showed a lot of faith in me.

“I said before, anyone willing to show faith in me or work with me that’s who I will devote myself or service to. At the moment that’s TTM so yeah that’s where I’m heading.

“Cape Town Spurs had me in their office twice and could not finalise anything with me, but thanks to them also for the interest they showed in me.”

Jampies featured 18 times for Babina Noko across all competitions in their debut season in the South African top flight before his release this month.
