Having arrived in Morocco ahead of next month’s CAF Women’s African Cup of Nations, Banyana Banyan head coach Desiree Ellis said the team have been welcomed warmly and are settling in.

Banyana begin their campaign with a tough opener against champions Nigeria on the 4th of July.

The national women’s team flew out of the country at the start of the week, after Ellis cut her 33 women preliminary squad down to the final 21.

“We were welcomed warmly when we arrived at the airport. We are coping very well and there has been so much enthusiasm and drive at our training session,’’ Ellis told SAFA media.

“The closer we get to our opening game the more we get into more detail. We show the players footage and try to break it down.

“We are still working on a lot of things and we have the footage for the players to see who they are up against and work on different areas on the field.’’
