Bafana Bafana midfielder Sphephelo Sithole looks poised to finally land a lucrative move after five years in Portugal.

Sithole has emerged as one of the hottest talents to graduate from the esteemed KZN Academy, and the 23-year- old who made his international debut for Bafana in the 2-1 defeat to Morocco in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier earlier this month looks set to earn his Portuguese residency this month, which helps him in his pursuit to finally secure a move to one of Europe’s top-five leagues.

Despite suffering relegation with Belenenses SAD alongside compatriot Thibang Phete, ‘Yaya,’ as he is affectionately known, has suitors in the Bundesliga while LOSC Lille are also known admirers of his talents.

The French club made a couple of enquiries over his availability over the past 12 months and have enjoyed previous success signing from the club when they lured Reinaldo Mandava to France two years ago. He went on to win Ligue 1 before being snapped up by Atletico Madrid.
