How much has Orlando Pirates’ Relebohile Mofokeng banked playing for Bafana?

Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng continues to earn good money for both club and country.

So impressive have been the 21-year-old’s performances to date that he has attracted interest from clubs in France, the UK, the Middle East and the United States.

Let’s take a look at how much the current PSL Player of the Month has earned playing for Bafana Bafana.

RELEBOHILE MOFOKENG POCKETING GOOD MONEY

According to Transfermarkt, Relebohile Mofokeng has earned 12 caps for South Africa to date.

Bafana Bafana players receive match bonuses based on results with R60 000 awarded for a win and R30 000 for a draw.

In his 12 appearances for the national side, Mofokeng has been involved in six wins, three draws and three losses.

This equates to R360 000 in victories and R90 000 from draws. Therefore, Mofokeng has earned a total of R450 000 in match bonuses so far.

That’s before tax of course …

BREAKDOWN OF BAFANA BAFANA BONUSES BANKED BY MOFOKENG

  • Friendly vs Panama:
    Mofokeng earned R30 000 for a 1-1 draw. South Africa lost the second match 2-1, resulting in no bonus.
  • AFCON campaign
    He accumulated no money in match bonuses as he was not selected for there two victories against Angola (2-1) and Zimbabwe (3-2). However, he played in both Bafana Bafana losses against Egypt (1-0) and Cameroon (2-1).
  • 2025 Friendlies:
    • Draw vs Tanzania on 6 June (0-0): R30 000
    • Win against Mozambique on 10 June (2-0): R60 000
      Total: R90 000
  • AFCON Qualifiers:
    A strong run of four wins (they beat Congo, Uganda and managed two victories over South Sudan) and one draw (1-1 against Congo) saw Mofokeng pocket R240 000 from the four victories and R30 000 from the solo draw. That is a total of R270 000 from the AFCON Qualifiers.
  • World Cup Qualifier:
    Featured in a 2-0 win over Benin, contributing to another successful R60 000 outing.

BIGGER, BRIGHTER DAYS AHEAD FOR BUCS MEGASTAR

The Orlando Pirates star has made an impressive financial start to his international career, earning substantial bonuses thanks to consistent team performances.

There is growing international interest in Relebohile Mofokeng after strong displays for both club and country. So, his value – on and off the pitch – continues to rise.

Mofokeng has made just 12 appearances for Bafana Bafana to date. He has yet to find the back of the net for the national team however.

It’s highly likely that he will play many more times for South Africa. arning a lot more money.
