Neo Maema has said his first season at Mamelodi Sundowns has meant a lot to him, and he is honoured to have been part of the treble-winning team.

Maema joined Sundowns at the start of the 2021/2022 campaign from Bloemfontein Celtic and featured in 36 games in all competitions for Masandawana during the campaign.

The 26-year-old was also a key contributor in the team winning the DStv Premiership, MTN8 and Nedbank Cup, but said that personally for him, the CAF Championship League experience was also beneficial.

“For me personally it’s the CAF experience, travelling up and down the continent,” Maema told the Sundown’s website.

“It meant a lot to me and also winning the league because it is something that I have been praying for the better part of my career and I am just glad that we clinched that.”

“As a team to reach these milestones, to break so many records and to be a part of it, winning the MTN8 after so long was actually beautiful and I want to honour the opportunity.”
