iFani announces new management
iFani is stepping into a new chapter of his career, announcing a fresh management deal that signals both a personal reset and a renewed push in music.
Taking to Instagram, the rapper born Mzayifani Boltina, shared the news with an emotional message, revealing he has officially joined Asanda Empires.
Framing the move as a turning point, he wrote, “My lonely days are gone. I am no longer moving alone. We are an empire now.”
The partnership sets the tone for what promises to be a busy comeback season.
Plans are already in motion for live performances across local and international stages, alongside new music releases, videos, and a wave of media appearances.
At the core of this new era is a strong cultural direction, with iFani placing emphasis on vernacular expression and the global elevation of Xhosa language and heritage.
Reflecting on his time away, the rapper acknowledged the gap between himself and his audience, saying, “For a long time, people have been missing me, and I have been missing the people, too,” as he recalled the signature crowd chant, “HAY’MAAANI!!” that once defined his performances.
Now, he says, he’s ready to return with purpose and renewed hunger. “A man eats from the sweat of his brow, right?”
Through Asanda Empires, iFani aligns himself with a collective focused on pushing Xhosa culture to the forefront.
“We want to develop it, polish it, and show Mzansi and the whole world that there are Xhosa people. And asanda,” he said, expressing both pride and ambition for the movement.
Beyond the business announcement, the artist also used the moment to reconnect on a personal level.
“Please welcome me back into your hearts,” he told fans, adding “Ndiyavuya nyhani,” as he shared his excitement about the journey ahead.
True to his personality, iFani sprinkled humour and honesty into his message.
Addressing critics of his fashion, he joked, “If you do not like my clothes, leave them. Love me instead,” adding that he hopes to upgrade his wardrobe once he connects with Laduma Ngxokolo.
He also took a moment to make amends, offering an apology to fellow artist Flash Ikumkani for past remarks.
“Sometimes poverty makes one angry. Sorry, mahn Flash, I am grinding now. Your music has flavour and contributes to Xhosa culture. Hopefully, we will collaborate in the future.”
On finances, he urged patience from supporters, saying, “Do not rush to ask me for money. I have just started working. Wait for me to get paid.”
Despite now living in Sandton, iFani reassured fans that he remains grounded.
“Do not be shocked when you see me in the kasi. Yes, I live in Sandton now, but my heart still loves the township.”
The move marks a significant shift for the rapper, who has previously spoken about the financial and industry struggles that delayed his third album, 3rd Quadrant.
With new management behind him and momentum building once again, iFani appears ready to reclaim his space, this time with a clearer vision and a stronger team.
