Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies champion-coach Jerry Tshabalala has welcomed the FIFA Break as a chance to give his Hollywoodbets Super League leaders a deserved rest.

But it won’t be a break for all of his players, as ten players will be away on international duty, eight with Banyana Banyana as they prepare for next month’s CAF African Women’s Cup of Nations.

Tshabalala said he has happy to have the break during the international window, and is also looking forward to watch the AWCON and see the talent on show

“We needed this break considering that we began intensive preparations for the season during the second week of January,” Tshabalala told the Sundowns website.

“We have had a long campaign already and the international window will allow us to take some time out to recharge as we plan to pick up the momentum once the FIFA break is over. “We are well represented in the Bafana Bafana camp; which shows that our solid start to the season has not been in vain.

“It is always a great time to watch these international tournaments because it helps us to scout talented players. The tourney in Morocco will feature some of the best players vying for the top prize.

“While we are rooting for Banyana Banyana, we will also be keeping close tabs on some of the talented players at the tournament.

“Overall, it is a good break for our players and we are hoping they come back home with the trophy.”
