Mamelodi Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus has questioned Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos after his latest rant about the lack of quality in South African football.

The Belgian tactician addressed local media during a press conference on Tuesday, explaining that the Premier Soccer League – and in return  Bafana – lacks quality in comparison to other top African teams such as Morocco.

The Atlas Lions beat South Africa 2-1 on Thursday, but the scoreline flattered South Africa and could’ve been a lot worse, had it not been for the heroics of goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.

On Tuesday, Broos came out and insisted that there is a huge gap in quality between the Moroccan team, who are off to the 2022 FIFA World Cup later this year and have 90% of their players applying their trade in Europe, and his South African side.

“But I think it’s time now to face the real problem. What is the real problem of South Africa? The real problem of South Africa is that we don’t have those quality players,” Broos said.

“Therefore again, let’s face the problem of South Africa and the problem is that the level of our PSL is not high enough. We don’t make players with high quality.”

The words of the national team coach sparked a reaction from ‘Romeo’ who himself made 19 appearances for Bafana so far.

“Why do we have a coach that doesn’t believe in our talent and League. Sorry for thinking out loud,” he wrote.
