Mmodi – What Ncikazi Told Me

Published

on

Pule Mmodi has spoken about what Mandla Ncikazi told after him after the former Golden Arrows coach left to join Orlando Pirates at the start of the 2021/2022 season.

Ncikazi had led Arrows to an excellent fourth-place finish in the DStv Premiership in the 2020/2021 season, before joining Pirates.

Mmodi, who has not hid the secret that he would like to join Kaizer Chiefs, told iDiski Times journalist Lorenz Köhler that Ncikazi’s departure was upsetting at the time, but he wished the coach well.

In turn, Ncikazi, who alongside Steve Komphela had scouted Mmodi when he was still at GladAfrica Championship side Uthongathi, told the player he had the potential to go far.

“Every player was focused, we knew what we wanted, every player was pushing hard as a team whenever we trained and then ya I think that’s the difference,” Mmodi told iDiski Times.

“I was upset yes – I told him he must have a good journey where he is going and I thanked him for the chance he gave me and he just said again that I have potential.”
