Sizwe Dhlomo cautions Sol Phenduka over extreme diet

Radio personality Sol Phenduka recently gave fans a glimpse into a private conversation with fellow broadcaster Sizwe Dhlomo while documenting his ongoing weight-loss journey.

The Podcast and Chill co-host shared a screenshot of their iMessage exchange on X, revealing that he had been considering switching to a one-meal-a-day eating routine.

The method has gained popularity among some fitness enthusiasts, including South African musician Prince Kaybee.

Alongside the screenshot, Phenduka joked about how hungry he had been, writing: “Yey, I was so hungry. First meal of the Day. Sbonge Dinangwe.”

In the conversation, Dhlomo quickly cautioned his friend against adopting the diet without proper guidance.

He urged Phenduka to seek professional advice instead of relying on opinions circulating online.

“Don’t eat once a day, bruh. That’s unhealthy. Don’t listen to uneducated opinions. Consult a dietician,” Dhlomo wrote.

Phenduka, known for his humour, pushed back with a playful response that referenced how earlier generations lived.

“How did our ancestors survive? Definitely not on 3 meals a day,” he replied.

Dhlomo was quick to respond, adding: “They ate at least twice.”

Phenduka also shared a photo of his first meal of the day, which consisted of two large pieces of pork.

Some followers questioned whether the portion and food choice aligned with a healthy weight-loss plan, while others focused on Dhlomo’s warning about extreme dieting.
