6 year old dies after Pit Bull attack in Atteridgeville
0n Monday afternoon, in Atteridgeville Charmaine Munepye (6), was playing with her three friends near a neighbour’s yard when the dogs gained access through a fence. The four kids ran to a nearby house but the dogs followed them inside.
Charmaine’s father Cedric Maunde is in pain, told Daily Sun that he found his child in a pool of blood.
“She was unrecognizable. Those dogs ripped my daughter apart. She died a painful death” he said.
“I was told they went after my daughter who was hiding in the bedroom. They dragged her to the kitchen and started to maul her. The house owner could not do as he was sick. He watched in vain as my daughter screamed for her life.”
Cedric revealed the child from the house they ran into also died from shock.
Maunde received a call that he urgently needed to rush home so he can take his daughter to hospital, he was devastated to see his child in such a state. He said he had fetched Charmaine from school and dropped her off at home.
Maunde wants justices for his daughter’s horrible and brutal death.
” I want the owners of the dogs to face the full might of the law. People cannot breed such dogs and fail to create security.”
Police have opened an inquest case. Colonel Dimakato Sello confirmed to Daily Sun.
