470 new EMPD officer to curb crime in the city

470 more Metro Police officers will now be deployed in various parts of Ekurhuleni. This brings the total number of EMPD officers fighting crime and making Ekurhuleni safer up to almost 3000.

EMPD also celebrates it 20th birthday this year, having been formed in February 2002, shortly after the formation of the City of Ekurhuleni in December 2000.
