A 59-year-old SAPS lieutenant general is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistratesβ Court today, 22 September 2026, following his arrest on Monday.
According to SAPS, he faces charges relating to the alleged sexual grooming of a 16-year-old girl between July and August, and the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman at a Sandton hotel in May.
Acting National Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane said rank or seniority cannot place anyone above the law. The officer has not been named in the SAPS statement.
