Radio and television personality Zanele Potelwa has officially been announced as the co-host of the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMAs), where she will share the stage with award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest.

The announcement has been met with excitement from music fans, with many praising the pairing as a fresh and energetic choice for one of the country’s biggest nights in entertainment.

A dynamic hosting duo

The official reveal was made after Cassper Nyovest confirmed his hosting role earlier this week, with organisers now unveiling Zanele Potelwa as his co-host. The duo is expected to bring a blend of music industry credibility, charisma and broadcasting experience to the SAMA32 stage.

For Potelwa, the appointment marks another major career milestone. Best known as the host of 5FM’s 5 Drive, she has become one of South Africa’s most recognisable young media personalities, building a reputation for her confident interviewing style and vibrant on-air presence.

A full-circle SAMA moment

While this is Potelwa’s first time co-hosting the SAMAs, it is not her first appearance at the awards. She previously featured as one of the presenters during the milestone 30th edition of the ceremony, making this latest appointment a significant step up.

Cassper’s return to the SAMAs is equally noteworthy after years of a strained relationship with the awards. His decision to take on hosting duties signals a new chapter between the artist and the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).

Anticipation builds for SAMA32

The 2026 South African Music Awards, branded as the “Homecoming Edition”, will take place at Sun City on 15 August 2026. With Cassper and Zanele leading the celebrations, audiences can expect an entertaining evening that honours South Africa’s best musical talent while celebrating the continued evolution of the local music industry.
