Springboks captain Siya Kolisi penned a touching Father’s Day tribute to his dad via an Instagram post on Sunday 21 June.

SIYA KOLISI PENS FATHER’S DAY TRIBUTE TO DAD

Rugby star Siya Kolisi shared a photo alongside his dad, Fezakele Raymond Kolisi in celebration of Father’s Day with a touching tribute. Siya was born in 1991, when his father was in his final year of school. Siya was reportedly largely raised by his late grandmother, Nolulamile because of the young ages of his parents and challenging circumstances. Over the years, Siya and his father have worked on reconnecting and rebuilding their relationship. In an effort to take care of his father and honor his journey, Siya bought Fezakele a home near the sea in the Gqeberha area.

“Gqwashu ❤️ Thank you, Without you I am not there ! Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers and father figure , ningadinwa! Nako bhuti malume, tanci, nocousin . Silaphaw nje ninj,” he wrote.

Siya is also a father to Nicholas (11) and Keziah (9), who he shares with estranged wife Rachel Kolisi. The pair announced their split in a joint statement in October 2024.

SIYA KOLISI ON MOTHER’S DAY: ‘IT WAS A ROUGH DAY’

In May, Siya also shared a photo of his mom on Mother’s Day expressing that it was a rough day for him. He explained that he has limited memories of his late mom, but he cherishes them. Siya and his two siblings Liyema and Liphelo are from his mom. The rugby star and his then-wife Rachel Kolisi legally adopted his siblings in 2014 and raised them as his own. Siya’s mom, Phakama, passed away when he was just a teenager.
