Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine recently set a new club record in the PSL history.
Chaine played his 152nd competitive match for the Buccaneers against Marumo Gallants; the game which they won 2-0 at Orlando Amstel Arena.
Kabelo Kgositsile and Nkosinathi Sibisi netted as Pirates narrowed the gap between them and Mamelodi Sundowns to just one point.
Pirates still have a game in hand, and they will return to the summit of the log provided they register a win in that match.
Now, according to OptaJabu, the win over Marumo Gallants was Chaine’s 100th since joining the club, making him the first Pirates player to reach such milestone in fewer games.
In those 152 competitive games for the Sea Robbers, Chaine conceded 90 goals and kept 72 cleansheets.
He is followed by veteran winger Deon Hotto, who reached his 100th win for the club in his 186th official match in May 2025.
Bottom of the list is former Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi who had to play 213 official games to reach his 100th win for the club in November 2010.
