Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly extended the contract of right-back Dillan Solomons following his impressive performances in the CAF Confederation Cup last season.

The 30-year-old has spent four years at Naturena after joining the Soweto giants from Moroka Swallows in 2022.

Although Solomons struggled for regular game time in the Betway Premiership, he established himself as Chiefs’ first-choice right-back in the CAF Confederation Cup, delivering a series of solid performances.

His displays in continental competition appear to have convinced the club to offer him a new deal.

According to SoccerBeat, Solomons has already put pen to paper on a contract extension.

Kaizer Chiefs extend Solons stay

“SoccerBeat understands that Kaizer Chiefs right-back Dillan Solomons has signed a new contract at the club, after his representatives were spotted at Naturena yesterday,” the publication reported.

Chiefs have been busy preparing for the new season, recently confirming the appointment of Fernando Da Cruz as assistant coach alongside the rest of the club’s revamped technical team.

The Glamour Boys have also strengthened their squad with the signing of defender Thabo Moloisane.

Meanwhile, George Matlou and Happy Mashiane have departed the club following the expiry of their contracts.

Several players are still awaiting clarity over their futures, with Samkelo Zwane, Gastón Sirino, Bruce Bvuma and Fiacre Ntwari among those whose contracts have also expired.

Kaizer Chiefs finished third last season in the Betway Premiership which guarantees them a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. They will also participate in the MTN8 after missing the competition for the past two seasons.

What’s your take on Solomons?
