Orlando Pirates confirmed that an agreement had been reached with the Bahraini club. The club revealed Maswanganyi expressed his desire to continue his career abroad.
His departure brings an end to a spell in which he established himself as a popular figure among the Orlando Pirates supporters.
PATRICK MASWANGANYI GETS ORLANDO PIRATES FAREWELL
Maswanganyi remained an important part of the technical team’s plans for the new season. However, discussions between the player, his representatives and the club ultimately led to Orlando Pirates agreeing to allow him to pursue the opportunity overseas.
The club confirmed that the 28-year-old Maswanganyi’s decision was respected despite his importance to the squad.
“In recognition of his service to the Club and his ambitions for the next chapter of his career, Orlando Pirates agreed not to stand in his way,” the club said.
A transfer was subsequently concluded with Alkhaldiya Sports Club, allowing Maswanganyi to begin a new chapter in Bahrain.
“Tito” leaves Orlando Pirates as a league champion and a firm favourite among the Ghost. His performances in the famous black and white jersey earned him a special place among the supporters.
The club also highlighted his commitment to representing Orlando Pirates with pride throughout his time in Soweto.

Maswanganyi departs having made a lasting impression both on and off the field. His personality and performances made him a popular member of the Buccaneers squad.
“From his first appearance in the famous black and white jersey, he gave the Ghost countless moments to celebrate and represented this club with pride,” Orlando Pirates said.
His exit will now leave the technical team with another important squad decision as the club continues its campaign across domestic competitions.
Orlando Pirates thanked the playmaker for his dedicated service and wished him success in the next chapter of his career.
The club added: “He departs as a league champion, a firm favourite among the supporters and a player who understood the responsibility of representing Orlando Pirates Football Club.”
Maswanganyi will now look to make his mark in the Bahrain Premier League after closing the door on his Orlando Pirates chapter.
