A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help return a Zimbabwean mother and her two daughters from the United Kingdom for burial.
Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, were found dead at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, earlier in July.
Post-mortem examinations found that all three died from blunt-force injuries to the head.
The campaign has set a £10,000 fundraising target to help cover repatriation and funeral expenses.
Community members are now rallying around the grieving family as it prepares to lay the mother and daughters to rest in Zimbabwe.
Family faces repatriation costs
Returning bodies from the UK to Zimbabwe can involve significant transport, administrative and funeral costs.
The campaign organisers appealed to friends, relatives and members of the public to help the family give the three victims a dignified farewell.
The Khumalo family previously described the deaths as an “unimaginable loss”.
Relatives also thanked those who had sent prayers, messages of support and comfort after the killings.
Natalie and Nala were remembered warmly by their schools.
Natalie was described as a bright and talented pupil, while Nala was remembered for her cheerful and affectionate personality.
Husband arrested in South Africa
British authorities have identified Nothabo’s husband and the girls’ father, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, as the suspect in the killings.
He allegedly left the UK shortly before the bodies were discovered.
Tshuma was later arrested in Johannesburg with assistance from Interpol.
He remains in South African custody while legal proceedings continue.
British prosecutors have authorised three murder charges against him.
The UK is pursuing his return through an extradition process.
The fundraiser comes as the criminal case continues across two countries.
No court has yet convicted Tshuma of the murders, and the allegations must still be tested through the legal process.
For the victims’ relatives, the immediate focus is returning Nothabo, Natalie and Nala to Zimbabwe.
The campaign asks the public to help ease the financial pressure on the family as it prepares three funerals and mourns a devastating loss.
