Orlando Pirates players left in complete limbo

Marumo Gallants signed the duo on loan from Orlando Pirates before September’s deadline day. Following continued absence, a report reveals a mess has befallen Mariko and Msendami.

According iDiski Times’ leading reporter Lorenz Kohler, Gallants missed the deadline to register the Mali and Zimbabwean internationals.

The error has meant the worst for both players. Neither player is eligible to feature for Gallants. They have to wait for January registration window.

For a club desperate to climb away from the foot of the Betway Premiership, the timing could hardly have been worse.

Their absence had also raised questions about the club’s operations, particularly as the team continued to battle for results.

With Msendami and Mariko unavailable until the transfer window reopened, Gallants had been forced to rely on their existing squad to keep their season alive.

Gallants’ difficulties had already been evident in their league campaign. They had suffered six defeats before recording their first win last Friday, a dramatic 3-2 victory over Siwelele.

BUCCANEERS SIGNIGNS

In the meantime, Orlando Pirates have enjoyed success from new signings playing in Mariko and Msenami’s positions. In midfield, the likes of Thapelo Mokobodi has been sensational. Mtheleleli Mthiyane has also delivered stellar work whenever called upon. The former has scored two goals and created four assists in 14 games. Mthiyane, playing in a deeper defensive role, has enjoyed 11 outings.

In Msendami’s place, coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has enjoyed service from Ghampani Lungu and Kabelo Kgositsile. Lungu has been particularly impressive with four goals and one assist in 11 games. Kgositsile has contributed with two goals and one assist in 11 games.
