Grammy-winning star Tyla has reportedly removed her scheduled Lagos, Nigeria, stop from her A*POP World Tour following widespread online backlash and alleged death threats.
She had initially announced a performance in Lagos on 22 December 2026 as part of her newly unveiled global tour, which spans Europe and Africa.

Did Tyla remove Nigeria from world tour?
The announcement, however, sparked heated debate on Nigerian social media, with some users calling for a boycott over recurring concerns about xenophobic attacks against Nigerians living in South Africa.
Shortly after the controversy escalated, fans noticed that the Lagos date was no longer listed on Tyla’s official tour schedule, fuelling speculation that the show had been cancelled.

Reports circulating on social media claim the decision followed a wave of hostile messages and alleged death threats directed at the singer following South Africa’s alleged treatment towards Nigerians amid anti-illegal immigration protests. However, Tyla and her management have not publicly confirmed that the threats were the reason for the removal.
The tour continues
Despite the reported removal of the Lagos stop, Tyla’s tour is still expected to continue with performances across Europe and South Africa.
As of now, neither Tyla nor her representatives have released an official statement addressing the reported cancellation or the alleged threats, leaving fans awaiting clarification on whether the Lagos concert has been permanently scrapped or could be rescheduled.
