South African sports superfan Mama Joy Chauke has sparked conversation on social media after revealing that she travelled to Cape Town to attend the funeral of late footballer Jayden Adams.

Mama Joy to attend Jayden Adams’ send-off

The well-known supporter shared photos from the airport, giving followers a glimpse of her journey. In the post, Mama Joy included a picture of her boarding pass alongside the official funeral poster announcing the details of Jayden’s funeral.

The funeral is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 25 July 2026, in Cape Town, where family, friends, teammates and members of the football community are expected to gather to pay their final respects.

Sharing her travel update on social media, Mama Joy confirmed that she was making the trip to honour the late footballer, whose passing has left many South Africans mourning.

Supporters praised Mama Joy for consistently standing by South African athletes and sports personalities during important moments, saying her attendance showed compassion and respect for the late footballer and his family.

Others, however, felt that funerals are deeply personal occasions and debated whether announcing the trip publicly was necessary.

Funeral details shared online

According to the funeral poster shared by Mama Joy, Jayden’s funeral will take place on Saturday.

The day’s programme will begin with a viewing at 09:30, followed by the funeral service at 10:30. The service will be held at the Coetzenburg Centre, located at the Coetzenburg Sports Grounds.

Following the service, Jayden will be laid to rest at Jamestown Cemetery, where family, friends and loved ones will gather for his burial.
