Molly Shannon was honoured with the 2,850th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 22 June.
Her star is in the category of Television.
On hand to witness the ceremony were her friends and fellow actors Will Ferrell and Connie Britton. They were also guest speakers.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce that beloved comedian and actress Molly Shannon will be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her remarkable body of work and enduring impact on comedy and entertainment have earned her this well-deserved recognition,” said Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies.
“It makes this moment even more special that her star will be placed next to her dear friend and fellow Saturday Night Live alum Will Ferrell, creating a wonderful full-circle tribute to their shared legacy in comedy.”
Shannon was on Saturday Night Live for six season, her work there earning her an Emmy nomination.
The Ohio native lists projects such as Superstar, A Good Person, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Year of the Dog, and Never Been Kissed among many others in her catalogue.
