On 20 June, podcaster and author Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh reunited with Sim Dope and Greyhound, his former bandmate from Entity, during the 20th school reunion at the prestigious St John’s College in Johannesburg.

Kiernan Forbes, also known AKA was in a hip hop group called Entity, which also included Sizwe and Greyhound.

Their only album scored a KORA nomination under the Best African Hip Hop category. While schooling at St John’s College, the trio formed the group, and though Sizwe and Greyhound chose different career paths after matric, AKA continued with his music aspirations.

Sporting his school tie, Sizwe shared photos from the twentieth anniversary reunion of the Class of 2006, which included his friends, former classmates, Sim Dope, and Greyhound.

He captioned the post “Sim Dope. Greyhound. And many other good friends. Last night, we celebrated our twenty-year class reunion. Class of ‘06, stand up. If you know, you know.”

‘ONLY FORBES IS MISSING’

Fans couldn’t help but feel the glaring absence of AKA, who was tragically shot dead in Durban alongside his former manager, Tebello Tibz Motsoane, in February 2023.

Below are some comments from fans, including AKA’s mother, Lynn Forbes.

Lynn Forbes commented: So many emotions and nostalgia flowing through me looking at this.

Instakudzi wrote: Love this. Knew Sim Dope from the basketball court whenever we played St John’s. Then met you, Kiernan, and Nhlanhla while chasing our dreams. What a time.

Ben Mazibuko added: Only one person is missing from this pic, and we all know who it is.

Mandlakhe Mbatha remarked: Only Forbes is missing.

Vuyile Mousley commented: Long live Super Mega, live long.
